Why We Love Vail
7 Legendary Bowls
Vail Mountain’s Back Bowls have a legendary status. These seven alpine basins are a powder-filled playground that span six miles and 3,000+ acres -- comprising more than half of Vail's total ski terrain.
These powder fields are a paradise for strong skiers seeking ungroomed terrain, but that’s not all the Back Bowls are about. Adventurous intermediate skiers can also enjoy this renowned, see-forever terrain with several often-groomed trails and all runs lead back to the lifts.

2 Epic Base Villages
Three lively base villages define the off-mountain experience at Vail. While on-mountain experiences are certainly "Like Nothing on Earth," the base villages' amenities, shopping, dining, and activities round out the overall experience.
In Vail Village, snap a photo on the famed covered bridge or with the 10th Mountain Division statue. Enjoy everything from alpine eats to pizza and Mexican in the charming Tyrolian-inspired village. In Lionshead, you'll find ice skating, shopping, and more dining, including some of Vail's icon apre-ski bars: Garfinkle's and Bart & Yeti's.
4-Season Adventure
Vail and the views of the stunning Gore Range are spectacular no matter what time of year you choose to come. You can golf from May through October on 10 local courses within the Vail Valley. Hiking is sensational, particularly when the wildflowers are in bloom, June through August, or when the aspen groves are awash in a yellow glow, late September through mid-October. The fly fishing in the Vail Valley, along Gore Creek and the Colorado River, is exceptional year-round. And if you love winter sports, such as Nordic skiing or snowmobiling, Vail is a veritable heaven. These are just a few of the four-season adventures that await in Vail, Colorado.
