Creekside Chalet is a beautiful mountain home that borders the National Forest, offering private and spacious ski accommodations for larger families and groups. Minutes from the Thunderhead chairlift and walk-out access to many hiking and biking trails offer something for everyone on your Colorado vacation.
An expansive great room with a cathedral ceiling offers spectacular views of the mountains. Comfortable leather furniture invites you to put your feet up and relax in front of the wood-burning fireplace while recapping the day's adventures with friends and family. Step out on the sunny south-facing deck for a view down the valley, a relaxing al fresco meal in warmer months, or a relaxing soak in your own private hot tub.
A spacious kitchen is fully equipped with a professional-grade gas stove top and griddle, double ovens, and double Bosch dishwashers. Aspiring chefs in your group will enjoy a large center island with additional seating for three.
The kids' table will be a big hit as the young ones can enjoy meals at the kitchen table with seating for eight, while adults enjoy relaxing meals in the spacious and elegant 10-person dining area that opens to the great room.
Creekside Chalet offers six spacious bedrooms each with ensuite bathrooms and flat panel TVs, making it the perfect fit for a variety of groups. On the upper level, a spacious primary has a king bed, sitting area, fireplace, and access to the private back deck, along with a spa-like ensuite with a soaker tub and steam shower. Two more king ensuite rooms are also on the upper level.
On the main floor, guests will enjoy three more king ensuite rooms and a powder room.
On the lower level of the chalet is a large family room with video games, a home theater 60" LED Smart TV with surround sound, and a full stock of books and board games. Movie lovers can dim the lights and turn up the sound or enjoy a fun game of shuffleboard in the adjacent space. This room also has a twin bunk bed, attached bathroom, and a closed door in case you want to make it the kids' room. You will also find a mud room for gear storage and garage access on this level.
On a side deck looking up to the ski mountain is an 8-person private hot tub. Soak, unwind and plan adventures for the day ahead under a starlit sky or while watching fresh Champagne Powder falling on the mountain. Ski access is a breeze at Creekside Chalet as the Moving Mountains on-call shuttle will take you to the Thunderhead Express Chairlift in just minutes (winter only.)

IN HOME AMENITIES
All Moving Mountains properties have WIFI and come fully stocked with paper products (paper towels, toilet paper, tissues), bathroom toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap), and detergents (dish, dishwasher, and laundry) as well as clean bed linens and towels. In addition, the kitchens are stocked with aluminum foil, plastic wrap, trash bags, sponges, soap, salt and pepper, coffee, tea, Nespresso, cookware, bakeware, dishes, glasses, utensils, and standard small appliances.
This home does not have air conditioning. Cool Colorado summer nights keep this home comfortable by opening windows after the sun goes down, and then closing the windows and blinds during the day. Utilizing the overhead fans, if available, keeps airflow moving, additional floor fans can be found in many bedroom closets. Can't live without it? A/C units may be available for rent for an additional fee.

This company is wonderful! We rented the Creekside Chalet for our group of 8 adults and 4 kids. We had more than enough supplies for the long weekend, the house was extremely equipped in the kitchen and the moving mountains staff was readily available for anything that we needed. Jill at the front desk was very helpful when we were stranded by road closures and helped us come up with a plan to get us to our next destination. We will definitely be coming to them for any future rentals in Steamboat!
We loved this property! We had 6 couples and there wasn’t a bad bedroom or bathroom in the whole house. Plenty of room for everyone in the kitchen & family room. The communication was fantastic with Moving Mountains. They were always checking in to make sure we had what we needed and to make sure everything was to our liking. If you had any questions, you could text them and someone responded right away. I would definitely rent this or another property from them again.
Four families with kids rented this property for our first ski vacation to Steamboat. The property itself was amazing with all the amenities we could ask for. Great proximity to the ski resort. And Moving Mountains went above and beyond on helping us book everything we needed for our stay as well as shuttling us to and from the resort and downtown. We will be back!

Our group of 6 adults, a toddler, and a baby enjoyed staying with Moving Mountains. We enjoyed lounging on the deck, relaxing in the hot tub, and walking the trail nearby. This was a great place for anyone looking to stay in Steamboat and is close to the ski area/gondola, and the shuttle worked great. Our only complaint was an early ?quiet time? at 7pm and firm mattresses. Overall, we had a great time!
Best vacation ever! We did not want to leave! You must see Creekside Chalet to believe it! With it?s amazing view of the mountain and National Forest, it is the perfect vacation destination for a large family or group! We experienced all of the comforts of home and much more!!! Every member of our family fell in love with the expansive, open Great Room/Dining Room. Even though there is a TV in every room of the Chalet, our family of 11 always wanted to gather in the Great Room to watch TV, visit, play games or just relax. The large kitchen/breakfast area is equipped with every state-of-the-art tool, appliance, utensil, cookware, serving plate or glassware imaginable. We prepared 3 meals a day for 11 people for a week and never lacked for anything. There are excellent restaurants nearby, but we always elected the ?takeout option? because we did not want to leave our beautiful, spacious and comfortable vacation home. You are missing out on a luxurious vacation if you do not select this home!

It could not have been better! The home owner and Moving Mountains have thought of everything that a large family or small group would need. Everything was in excellent condition and working properly - there simply was no issues or needs. The layout of the bedrooms (each with their own bath), multiple living rooms and large decks gave our large extended family plenty of room to spread out. We had a six month old child with us and rented several infant items (Excersaucer & baby bath) from Moving Mountains, which were essentially brand new and in perfect condition. The home is close to ski mountain and only a short 3-5 minute drive to downtown, lot's of restaurants and shopping close by for groceries etc. The home sits right on the edge of the National Forest with trails to hike or bike adjacent to the property. Moving Mountains were wonderful suggesting places to go and things to do. We hated to leave and will definitely be back!
For the money I would pass on this house. Mainly didnt like the floor plan, no views to speak of, and had cold water in the master bath the last 2 days. On the plus side, the hot tub was great, it was easy to get to, and management resolved some small issues I had promptly.
It was so nice we booked the Creekside Chalet for the second year in a row. This is an outstanding place to stay. Great kitchen, hot tub and easy access to Thunderhead mountain.

Summer vacation with multiple family group - the home accommodated everyone with enough individual space....loved the location - hike -golf- shopping - restaurants.. - bear was an extra attraction!!!
A group of 14 friends were headed to Steamboat for my birthday, and found several Moving Mountains houses on AirBnb. We booked one, and ended up getting upgraded a few days before with the help of an incredibly friendly and kind employee Raul. He arranged for us to have a late check out Sunday, and sent us very detailed instructions on directions, and everything we needed to know about the house. The house was unbelievable - excellent condition, beautiful, came with robes and slippers, a giant hot tub, breathtaking views on multiple balconies, a wet bar, plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms, every kitchen appliance you could ever need...my friends and I felt as if we became rich over night. I'll be talking about that trip and that house for awhile. There's no reason to stay anywhere else in Steamboat. If you do - you're missing out. Note: for 14 people, a 5,000 sq. foot house that slept 16 in September was $82/per person for two nights. The price was right and the stay was even better.
Three friends and I enjoyed a three night stay at this Moving Mountains chalet, and it was an awesome trip from start to finish. In addition to great accommodations, the amenities were out of this world - a coffee bar, hot tub, robes and slippers, a game room, TVs, wood burning stove, a giant kitchen with all the cookware and dishes you could possibly need, and more. We especially appreciated access to the Moving Mountains shuttle to get around Steamboat, and nothing could beat the in-house chef who came to cook for us one evening. He put out appetizers, we popped a bottle of bubbly, then sat in the hot tub and chilled until the main course was ready. Truly, it was an awesome stay. And that doesn't even count the night skiing, ice climbing, snowboarding, hot springs-ing, and shopping we did on our trip.
I enjoyed a quick trip with friends to Steamboat Springs in early March, staying at this Moving Mountains Chalet. It was quite possibly the best vacation I've ever enjoyed, even for such a short trip. The house, service, and amenities were wonderful - the hot tub, giant kitchen, bedrooms, private bathrooms, game room, TVs galore, the list goes on. Having access to the Moving Mountains shuttle was also great - the service was fast and everyone who works for the company is so accommodating and helpful. Last, but certainly not least, enjoying one of Moving Mountains' catered meals in the house, with a chef cooking for us while we drank wine in the hot tub was phenomenal. Who doesn't want that type of luxury while on vacation? Our trip outside of the facilities was also wonderful - night skiing, snowboarding, ice climbing, a delicious meal at Laundry, and a trip to Strawberry Park Hot Springs all made the list!
Nothing disappointing to report after enjoying this home for a week. The home is beautiful, spacious, well supplied and well kept. There are special amenities and well thought out details. We had a total of 12 adults (4 couples) and a 14 mo. old and had plenty of room. Moving Mountain's service was outstanding and we took advantage of their shuttle to the nearby lift.
Let me first start by saying that after 8+ years of extensive traveling this is my first ever review... I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Creekside Chalet with 14 friends and was blown away by both the home and level of service provided by Moving Mountains. I have read other reviews that have raised concerns with the location and yes it is definately shuttle ride to the gondola service but as a group we walk both to and from the Elk Head Express on several occassions so for us it didnt have any real impact. I think its also worth noting that chalets like this either dont exist or are extremely expensive if they are based within the village central. When the shuttle was required it was always prompt (within 15 minutes) and the drivers were more that willing to share their thoughts on the mountain and town which was a great help. The rooms have everything that you need with clean bathrooms and plenty of storage, the kitchen is huge and easily caters for large crowds (we had 15) and the hot tub was the ideal place to relaxe after a hard day on the slopes. All in all it was a fantastic trip, the only problem being that it has now come to an end and I am typing this email at work in australia!!
When we decided to take all 16 of our family members on a Christmas/new year ski trip, we needed a home that could not only sleep us all but could provide room and equipment to cook meals and give kids space to play (away from ski worn parents). Creekside had it all including location...lifts were extremely close (especially to thunderhead lift) and fireworks were visible from the warmth of the living room. Loved the real wood burning fireplace and the huge private spa. We'll be back guaranteed!
We have skied Steamboat for many years and were delighted to find Moving Mountains for our March trip last year. We loved the Creekside Chalet - perfect for our family with lots of extra touches like board games or movies, and a properly equipped kitchen, that really made it feel like home. The home was beautifully clean, well maintained and the shuttle service from the door made ski access a breeze. Highly recommended!
