You guys are rockstars!!
Where do I start?! I cannot say enough praise about the entire Moving Mountains staff. From the moment we booked the Black Bear Chalet, we were in direct communication with an actual human at MM. (No automated messages or bots!) We were a group of 10 visiting Steamboat Springs for a winter wonderland getaway coming from Los Angeles, Scottsdale, San Diego, Sacramento, Austin, and Denver. I’m a bit of a control freak (lol) so I took the reins when it came to planning the 5 days we were there. In reality, I didn’t need to plan anything as MM had it all covered. They provide you with a simple login to their portal which includes EVERY little bit of information we needed for an enjoyable stay. The first person I was in contact with was Mallory — a true gem! She was more than helpful in providing information about all the things Steamboat. She arranged for all of our lift passes to be at the house upon arrival and also had all of our gear (skis, snowboards, helmets, poles, etc…) delivered to the house. That created such a relaxed arrival for all of us after a long day of traveling! All we had to do was show up — the best! Another AMAZING service MM offered us was the complimentary shuttle for all of Steamboat. It truly was as easy as can be. Open the app and then request or schedule a ride. All of the drivers were very kind and enjoyable to ride with. They don’t require gratuities, but they each offered a QR code to pay via Venmo if you chose to - which we did because they deserved tips. Being a group of 10, it was so easy to not have to worry about who was driving the rental cars or where we were going to park. It was also so nice to be dropped off right at the lifts — again no hassle. The Black Bear Chalet itself was VERY clean and VERY well maintained. It was fully stocked with all things kitchen related, plenty of sheets and extra bedding, Mrs. Meyers dish and laundry soap, board games, etc. Probably the best part of the home was the elevator — for those of us staying on the 3rd floor, it made the luggage transport a breeze! There was also a heated boot rack which was dreamy. (It sucks putting your feet into cold, wet boots. Lol) As mentioned, we were all coming in from different cities and all had different arrival/departure times. MM was able to accommodate an early arrival and a late checkout. So nice!! I will 10000% be staying at another Moving Mountains property in the future. We truly had such an amazing stay. The ONLY thing I would change would be to book directly through the MM website. I found the house on VRBO and booked through there (not realizing it was managed by MM) and was charged extra booking fees — not by Moving Mountains but by VRBO. All in all, 10 out of 10 stars! THANK YOU again to all of the Steamboat Springs Moving Mountains staff…. especially Mallory, Hannah, Stephanie, Jill, Kameron, Diana, Doug, Eric, Brenton, and anyone else I may have missed. You guys are rockstars!! - Sara Day (Stayed at Black Bear Chalet 1.31.24 - 2.4.24)

I highly recommend booking one of their properties.
Another amazing experience using Moving Mountains. If I could give them ten stars, I would. This was our third time to stay in one of their wonderful properties. Our large family of children and grandchildren made many new memories in this home. Matt, our main shuttle driver was so helpful and took the best care of my family. Rob (maintenance) and Jill (front desk) were standing by to help in any way possible to make our trip the best! Mallory made all of the arrangements for ski lessons, lift tickets, and other recommendations ahead of time Our lift passes were at the home whenever we arrived... no standing in line. I hope our family was as easy to work with as they were! It is a luxury experience and if you are considering using Moving Mountains, they will make your trip experience outstanding. I highly recommend booking one of their properties. Thank you Moving Mountains for your great team.

Highly recommend!

We had the pleasure of staying at a Moving Mountains home in Steamboat for our annual Mom's only snow trip. I have stayed at many vacation rentals over the years, but have never experienced the level of service provided by moving mountains. From our pre-arrival concierge services to address any issues during our trip, they really went above and beyond...We also had a lot of snow during our trip. So much so that we couldn?t open the hot tub cover. The Moving Mountains team was out quickly to clear it off. Everyone we worked with, from our amazing shuttle drivers to concierge, to maintenance people, were all super friendly and helpful. They made doubly sure that we were satisfied every step of the way. In my opinion, it?s not whether something goes wrong, but rather, how it is handled. Moving Mountains provides next-level customer service and I would highly recommend!

The Black Bear Chalet was the perfect place for our trip to Steamboat! The owners have taken great care to ensure every comfort is considered. The beds and linens are amazing and the whole house is beautifully maintained. I cannot say enough about Moving Mountains. The shuttle service is outstanding, prompt and all of the drivers were welcoming, kind and caring. MM checked in with us and if any need arose, they were there to take care of it. Every person we met with MM was simply delightful. We are sad to leave and look forward to coming back!

Could not have been happier

We stayed at Black Bear Chalet for the month of June 2020. We were two couples, with four children between us (ages 9, 6, and twins age 4). We simply could not have been happier with the house. The furnishings are perfect. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could need, right down to a food processors. The views are spectacular. The living room is a perfect place to sit at night after putting the kids to bed. What do I miss most, besides just being in Steamboat? It could be the enormous steam shower in the master bath. It could be the fantastic media room in the basement. Or the seamless service that Moving Mountains provides. (What a great property manager!). Or the super-comfortable bed. The location was perfect for summer -- 5 minute walk to the Thunderhead lift and associated hiking, 2 minute drive to the gondola area, 10 minute drive to Safeway and Starbucks). In winter, it appears that Moving Mountain shuttles you to the lift, which would be about a 1 minute drive. There is a massive storage room with boot driers for everyone. I did not want to leave this house. I kind of want to move to Steamboat and live in this house full time.

Perfect mountain retreat!

The Black Bear Chalet is the perfect mountain retreat! Our stay was nothing short of fantastic. We loved it and left with the most wonderful memories of our time there. No detail was overlooked in this house. The view from the porch in the front is simply spectacular--you can see right up to the top of the gondola. The location is fantastic. It is very close to the base of the gondola, and a short drive to everything else one could want (the downtown area with lots of restaurants, grocery stores, etc.). We were there in the summer, and there are lots of great hiking trails within walking distance of the house. The house itself is gorgeous, spacious, comfortable, and equipped with everything you could need. We loved the beautiful high ceilings and the thoughtful design details throughout the house. We cooked a lot for two families, and we loved cooking in the kitchen and dining together at the huge dining room table. The kitchen is fabulously stocked with all of the cooking and serving items you could want. It has a generous pantry, lots of counter space, and open floor plan in the main living area. The furniture and decor throughout the house is perfect for a mountain retreat. The beds, chairs, and couches were all comfy, and the kids especially loved the bunk room. The master bathroom is especially great. It's huge with the best shower/steam shower ever. We also loved the first floor media area with its big, comfy chairs and couches to snuggle up for movie night. This house has it all?even down to the great assortment of games and puzzles that we enjoyed. We would love to come back in the winter and take advantage of the first floor ski room full of boot driers, benches, and hooks. We love the Black Bear Chalet!

Bear Lodge is fantastic for large groups!

Bears Grande - Black Bear and Brown Chalet combined

My family rented both lodges for a week. We were a group of 21 including babies. There was ample space for all of us. The lodges are beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you need especially if you want to self cater. We also loved the hot tubs and bbqs! The lodge is located down the road from Thunderhead Lift so a shuttle is required. However Moving Mountains provided an excellent shuttle service. The staff were always punctual and friendly. We enjoyed a fantastic week in Steamboat. Thanks Moving Mountains!

Return to Steamboat with Moving Mountains
I?ve planned two trips to Steamboat Springs within the past three years. Both trips I?ve used Moving Mountains, I could not be more pleased with the properties and their customer service. Our family of 13 enjoyed Falconhead Lodge the first time in January, 2013 so much that a return trip was planned for Thanksgiving, 2015. Our family grew in the meantime and had outgrown Falconhead(on one side but not large enough for both units).I decided on Bear Grande for all the space and privacy for each couple as well as the bunk rooms for the children. Erin and Britt with Moving Mountains were so helpful and I probably drove them a little crazy during planning with my excitement. They joined us for dinner one night and we were able to get to know them on a more personal basis. Such great young ladies! We also enjoyed Mr. Maintenance? Ron? he drove us around the first full day we arrived and shared his cell number in case we had any problems with anything in the house. Patrick and John were our shuttle drivers the rest of the week and Victoria and her team came out for the mid-week clean. I?m not sure who does the hiring or training at Moving Mountains but they are all unbelievable. It?s all about customer service and all of these people gave us their ?all? during the week we visited Steamboat. We had our lift ticket passes all ready to go thanks to Erin and Britt as well as a team effort for private ski lessons with Allie, Eric and Sasha as instructors! Thank you Moving Mountains for welcoming us back to Steamboat. We loved our home away from home.

Unparalled Experience

Moving Mountains Chalets provides an unparalleled experience in luxury skiing. I have been unsuccessful trying to find their level of homes and services in Vail, Deer Valley, or aspen. We were a party of 10 (two couples and 6 kids). The home we stayed in was spectacular. But what made the experience over the top were Elisabeth, Robin and their staff. We took advantage of the Full Service Catered Package which I highly recommend. It is actually quite reasonable when you do the math. The two gentlemen who took care of us went above and beyond in every little detail. The meals were fantastic, the presentation was that of a fine restaurant, not that of a home cooked meal. The two times we tried the "better? restaurants in town, we were sorry we had not eaten back at the house. They would cook anything and everything that we, or the kids, could desire. The house was always clean in spite of the six monsters we had running around. They drove us everywhere and anywhere regardless of the time of day, and fulfilled any and all of the stupid request the kids could come up with - they were beyond amazing!

Moving Mountains Black Bear Chalet is Paradise

We planned this family ski vacation at Steamboat so that our grandchildren could learn how to ski. The chalet and Moving Mountain services exceeded our expectations in every way. The Black Bear Chalet is beautiful, spacious, and so well designed--from the ski storage room--to the private elevator--to the 5 1/2 bathrooms--there was more than enough room for our children and grandchildren and us to relax and enjoy the gorgeous scenery outside our huge windows. Due to unexpected injuries, Papa and Grammy were not able to ski--but staying in the Black Bear Chalet made the non ski time so much more enjoyable. The Moving Mountains staff were so helpful and went out of their way to assist us---even sending over delicious cupcakes when they heard about our injuries. They quickly responded to all of our questions and made us feel so welcome. We are already talking about a return trip; everyone in our family so enjoyed the Chalet.

what a gem, great location!!

This was our first stay in a rental home in steamboat springs and what a gem. We have been skiing in steamboat for several years and have been missing out. Black Bear was located down the road from Thunderhead lift and was a treat to begin and end our day at the lift versus the busy Gondola area. The home was beautiful and more than we could have asked for. We plan on staying here next year but in Black Bear and Brown Bear!!
