COLETTE BURRIS
Colette grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, yet always longed to live a rural, ranch lifestyle. Colette joined United Airlines as a Flight Attendant and was stationed in Denver in 1986. She bought her first house in Evergreen and eventually settled in Idaho Springs in 1992. While there, she graduated with a BS in Technical Business Administration from Metropolitan State College and was blessed with two children, a son, and a daughter. Being a mother has been her greatest achievement in life. Eventually, she quit flying to pursue a career in real estate. Being an avid runner, Colette’s mid-life crises came in the form of two Alaskan huskies and a dog sled. Soon after, two huskies morphed into nine and she sprint-raced the team for several years.
Seeking a more remote, less populous place to settle into semi-retirement, Colette and her husband moved to Oak Creek in 2018. Colette enjoys all the outdoor activities in Routt and Moffat County. She loves working around the ranch, remodeling, fixing things, exploring, reading, cooking, fishing, RV-ing, restoring old cars, and spending quality time with Jerry, her two adult children, and all the critters. This fall, she is excited to start a MA in Biblical Studies and Theology through Denver Seminary’s online program. Being a small business owner for over 25 years, she has a diverse business background and loves her position as a Quality Assurance Specialist with Moving Mountains. Joining the Moving Mountains team has been a fun addition to her high-energy ways!
